In this shoot, we comingled modern styling and delicate details for an Oheka Castle Wedding. It was our unique interpretation of this venue which is reminiscent of an elegant French Chateau. As a result, this shoot is an updated take on a classic French countryside wedding.

Located just outside of New York City, Oheka Castle is an opulent estate. Making Oheka, of course, a much sought-after venue. Oheka Castle has been featured in the film Citizen Kane and in the backdrop of Taylor Swift’s Blank Space music video.

When you book a wedding at Oheka Castle, you can expect that the greatest attention to detail given to every aspect. Executive Pastry Chef Daniel Andreotti has been baking at Oheka Castle for 25 years. Subsequently, his creations are the most opulent and detail-oriented wedding cakes, pastries, and delights that you could possibly imagine. Chef Andreotti makes creations with the highest level of craftsmanship because of his attention to detail.

Our models for this French Chateau-inspired Oheka Castle styled wedding were Sakura and John. Above all, they were absolutely stunning and we couldn’t have asked for a better couple to play our bride and groom. Sakura wore a bold, geometric bridal gown and a feathered party dress. These two looks gave her an edgy modern look against the more traditional opulence of the venue. Jon wore a sleek tailored suit although it was not without some updated subtlety. If you look closely enough at his suit you can see an intricate polka-dotted pattern!

Inspired by Paris, Rachel Ellen Events created this shoot using wedding details that remind us of an afternoon picnic along the Seine. The topiary gardens and the pastel exterior of the venue beckoned for florals and ceremony styling that remained light, organic, and whimsical. The florals positioned around the statue mirror the other areas throughout Oheka’s grounds where you will find walls of climbing ivy standing tall. The table setting was created to harmonize with its surroundings and was set in the garden among the fountains. Moreover, this setup offers guests an excellent view of the castle in the backdrop.

Instead of a conventional wedding cake, we chose to serve a croquembouche. It was only fitting that we use a traditional French dessert in lieu of a traditional cake. Croquembouche is a towering dessert made of individual pastry puffs which are sculpted into a cone shape. It is bound together with caramel and makes a positively enchanting dessert!

No French-inspired wedding would be complete without a luxurious champagne tower, which tells everyone “the party is ready to start!” What a great idea to offer all the guests French champagne, and toast the newlyweds!
