La Badia’s origins date all the way back to 1100, which qualifies it as one of the oldest hotels in Italy. Today, it offers modern-day hospitality to its guests, while also paying homage to the Saints and prelates who have walked its grounds. Built in 1103 the twelve-sided tower is a symbol of the whole structure. And it was architecturally the first of its kind when it was built. This venue is also known as the Borgo Abbey.
Today, La Badia is a hotel is comprised of 22 rooms and 5 suites that overlook the courtyards of the ancient abbey. You’ll find rooms that are furnished in classic style. Additionally, each room is outfitted with antique pieces. Because of this, each room has a personality all its own. While the hotel is a haven of peace and quiet, it is also the center of Orvieto. Wondering how to get to La Badia di Orvieto for your Wedding?
Arrival by Car
From Florence or from Rome: A1 Highway (Autostrada del Sole), exit Orvieto. Follow the directions for the town of Orvieto. At the roundabout follow the directions for Viterbo. Go on for approximately 1 km and turn to the left at the first crossroads. After a few meters, you will find signs leading to the Hotel.
The total distance from the exit of the highway is 3 km.
